Meadows Case Update

Chestnutts act on behalf of Mr & Mrs Meadows, the Southport couple who had their extortionate debt to London North Securities Ltd written off in October 2004 following a successful application before Judge Howarth at Liverpool County Court.

That decision has now been appealed and we are awaiting the Judgement from the Court of Appeal.

The case has attracted significant attention from various interested bodies, including the DTI, OFT, lawyers, journalists and debtors who have suffered a similar fate at the hands of tertiary lenders and it is anticipated that interest in the case is likely to be rekindled when the Judgement is handed down.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to say exactly when that will be but certainly in less than three months time.
