Charges

We understand a client's concern to know the likely cost of the work involved. Where possible, we will give you an estimate of our charges and in litigation, a full explanation of how your claim is to be funded. You will be provided with written confirmation of the terms and conditions that apply to your retainer with this Firm.

Different types of work attract different modes of funding, eg private client work may be undertaken on a private retainer ('pay as you go') a personal injury claim may be on a 'no win no fee' basis, an employment claim may be on a contingency basis, and a conveyance is most likely to involve a fixed fee agreed in advance.

We do not offer a publicly funded service (formerly known as 'Legal Aid'). In appropriate cases you will be asked to consider whether you have legal costs insurance. We can arrange after the event insurance for you if required for your claim.

In some cases we will ask for a payment on account of costs and expenses. We will always provide you with a full breakdown of our costs and expenses when a bill is issued. If the matter is likely to last for some time, you can make payments on account by monthly standing order to assist with your budget, and we will deliver interim bills to you at regular intervals as the work progresses.
